Andorra Escudella

Welcome to the land of Andorra! Andorra is a small country located between Spain and France nestled in the Pyrenees. The people come from Catalonia, and their official language is Catalan. Fun Fact: Andorra is ruled by a Coregency, the President of France and the Bishop of Urgell.

Today we decided to make Escudella. Escudella was eaten every day in Andorra and Catalonia during the 14th century. This has an insane amount of pork. We had to get ham, bacon, pork bones, Pork Meatballs, and an entire chicken breast. This was leaving out other meats some recipes called for.

Escudella definitely feels like a dish made from everything and anything found on the farm. A little bit of rice, chickpeas, noodles, and all sorts of vegetables. For this meal I did not use a specific recipe as every recipe I found was in itself vague or general. But as you can see alot when into it.

The Meatballs were a blast of flavor in an otherwise fairly mild dish. The meal was a warm comfort food similar to chicken noodle soup. Think chicken noodle with a Whole Lotta Pig.

Overall I'd give this dish a 7 out of 10. The Meatballs were unsettling and I am sure I am responsible for messing it up. Tasty but too much pig for us.
