Bahrain Machboos

Welcome to Bahrain. Bahrain is an island country in the Persian Gulf. Bahrain is known for their pearl fisheries considered one of the best in the world. Bahrain was one of the first countries influenced by Islam and Muhammed.

For Bahrain we made a dish known as Machboos we used a recipe from Kimberly on The Daring Gourmet https://www.daringgourmet.com/chicken-machboos-bahraini-chicken-rice/ . Machboos is basically a rice and chicken dish made in one pot. The only intricate part was making the Baharat spice. This spice was a blend of warm spices such as cinnamon, cloves, paprika and coriander.

The dish was made in a dutch oven with the rice added at the end. The only issue with this recipe that I had was the rice would not cook. I had to add multiple extra cups of water and increase the temperature to get it to cook.

The dish was a win for both Mack and I. Overall I would give it a solid 8 out of 10. It was easy delicious and cheap to make. Check in next week for Bangladesh. Here are the current rankings.
